CONTINUING EDUCATION PREVIEW
Keith Powers, one of our PHCC North Texas board members, master plumber and PHCC continuing education instructors will give a sneak preview of the upcoming curriculum, innovative technology and best business practices for PHCC.
Included in the review will be a recap of the new organization of the board plumbing rules as it pertains to licenses, additional rules as it relates to the board’s ability to assign personnel to investigate complaints initiated by the board as well as the ability to assign personnel to investigate unlicensed plumbing activity and related topics.
Keith will give an overview of the New Products chapter, which includes a discussion on Smart home voice controlled plumbing fixtures like kitchen faucets and shower controls. Also included will be a brief discussion on smart work boots as well as bio skeleton work tools. Other topics include site utility work, such as storm drains and sewer system design, as well as a review of the 811 Utility Locate Process.
This year’s continued education book features the required updated law and rules, site utilities, complaint procedures with the state board examiners office and new products chapter. During the meeting, Keith will share a few highlights from each chapter.
Keith has been in the plumbing industry since 1993 and began teaching the state required continued education for PHCC in 2005. In 2017 he began teaching the medical gas re-certification continued education as well. He has his journeyman’s license with his med-gas endorsement as well as his masters license.
